I discovered some great ideas for inexpensive Halloween costumes for my kids and I can’t wait to make a few of these this year. I recently got invited to a costume party and I thought to myself, how can I make myself a creative costume without spending a lot of money? One of my favorite ideas on our Cheap & Easy Halloween Costume post is “It’s raining cats and dogs”. I wanted to create something along those lines so I started doing my research on Halloween Costumes for adults. I came across these super creative, cheap ideas:
It’s Raining Men: I love this idea and it is extremely easy to make. All you need to is magazine cut-outs of some of your favorite heart throbs, a clear umbrella, fishing wire, a rain coat and boots to create this look. I’m going to get a portable speaker and play It’s Raining Men by the Weather Girls when I enter the party! See full instructions. Yep, I’m all over this one!
Creepy, Crawly Bug Lady: Take some plastic realistic looking bugs and glue them to a pair of nylons. Pair this with a goth style dress to complete the look. Can’t get any easier than this! You can also use some gummies bugs and place them in a pocket and drop one or two on people, their drinks or plates of food while you are talking with them at the party. Check marthasteward.com for more information.
Chicken Cord-On-Blue: Fellas, I didn’t leave you out. All you need is a blue shirt, an extension cord and a rubber chicken. Check out these cool ideas to see this and other easy play-on-words costumes. I love it!
Fork-In-The Road: How about a cleaver metaphor? You’ll need a black t-shirt, fabric tape and a fork. Not much to this costume. Visit Women’s Day for this and other ideas.
Catch Twenty-Two: How about this play-on-words costume by Better Homes and Gardens. Don’t need much at all to achieve this look just a baseball or softball uniform, mitt and a large cut out number 22.
I hope you’ll try one of these easy costumes this year. I do not know which one to select for myself. However, I’ll make sure to add photos of the costume I wear to the party! Remember, you do not have to spend a lot of money on a costume or cocktails for your Halloween party. Be creative and have fun! I know I will this year!
It makes cents to save dollars!
