Hello everyone! I’ve been reading many articles and watching documentaries about living a meat-free lifestyle. I took a moment to stop and examine what I was putting into my body and I decided to go meat-free. Meat-free? Hold it right there! I like meat y’all! So, I think I need to crawl before I can walk! I’m starting out with a 30 day Pescatarian diet. What the heck is that? Well… It’s a vegetarian that eats fish and seafood! I think I could do that, however I want to push myself and each Monday will be #MeatlessMonday. NO MEAT (including seafood)!
I will not be by myself! Who would I be without including my dearest friend and business partner at Two Dimes and a Nickel, Zoana. Like a trooper, she accepted my challenge and we are on our way!
What happens now?
Starting today, Labor Day, we will start our Meatless Monday and the kick off to our 30 day challenge. We will write weekly on how we are doing and feeling about this new eating lifestyle! Most importantly, can we do this on a budget? We will include tasty and cost-effective recipes and healthy snack items during our challenge while keeping all meals under $15 per day! With any eating preference, it’s more cost effective making your own meals rather than buying pre-packaged foods or eating out. We will be brutally honest about these recipes and offer any helpful routines and tips to keep us on track!
Before we get started, we wanted to know the benefits of going to a Pescatarian lifestyle. Here are a few reasons for our challenge:
* Maintains blood pressure health
* Helps manage body weight
* Lowers cholesterol
* Helps with mental wellness
These are only a few reasons for our challenge and I’m curious about how I feel after the 30 days. Please feel free to offer any helpful hints along the way about how to save money and tasty meals within the Pescatarian diet.
It makes cents to save dollars!
